A commitment to equality
Gender intelligence plan
When women advance, communities and economies progress and societies are transformed. Following this premise, in 2015, Banco Pichincha was the first business in Ecuador to subscribe to the Women’s Empowerment Principles which aim to get the private sector involved in efforts to achieve gender equality. These principles are the fruit of collaboration between UN Women and the United Nations Global Pact. The company also
boasts a gender intelligence program for the growth, development and creation of opportunities for female collaborators and customers.
Two years later, in 2017, the entity received the Global Banking Alliance for Women’s Market Data Award for its commitment to the growth and development of women. The award represented the recognition of distinguished initiatives like setting up an information management program to identify data for each gender and create inclusive bank products.
