A bank that gives life
Committed to responsible banking
Banco Pichincha is one of 28 financial institutions that wrote up the Principles for Responsible Banking under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Programme – Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). The entity’s participation in this project presented in New York in September 2019 consolidates its global leadership in the banking and financial sustainability sector.
Green bonds for environmental credit
Ecuador will step in to the green bond international market thanks to Banco Pichincha’s first release of 200 million dollars in October 2019. This is the largest in the region and aims to boost environmental credit to support renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable
construction and transportation projects.
Sustainable management model
BIO somos un banco que da vida (“we are a bank that gives life”) is a universal bio credit offer from Banco Pichincha Ecuador which includes training, environmental technical assistance and sustainable certification payment. In 2017, its social and environmental risk administration system (SARAS), which evaluates the socio-environmental impact of its customers’ economic activities, received the Finance for the Future Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
